Headteachers Welcome
I am proud to be the Headteacher of The Harbour School since September 2023, a four-campus provision where all stakeholders work effectively and enthusiastically to ensure success for our students.
The Harbour School is a school which enables young people to change the direction of their lives. Through positive relationships and a strong focus on our values of Grow, Learn and Achieve, our students have the opportunity to re-engage in education.
The Harbour School provides both specialist school places and Alternative Provision (AP) for students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) developmental needs and/ or medical needs.
The Harbour School offers an educational provision with a firm focus on supporting, engaging and raising the aspirations of every student. All students work towards achieving meaningful qualifications that will allow them to transition back into a mainstream school or onto Post 16 provision at one of our local Further Education providers.
Through a combination of:
- a challenging, engaging and progressive curriculum across all phases
- a tailored and bespoke interventions programme
- cultural capital activities, for example attending a sporting event, a trip to watch a theatre production or a visit to a museum.
We ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience success and make progress. Our greatest asset though at The Harbour School is our staff who go above and beyond to promote a love of learning, which enhances students’ achievement and supports their personal, social and emotional development. The Harbour School allows students to access education, make progress and change the direction of their lives.
We are a truly inclusive school, where our students’ needs come first. We are committed to working with and alongside our families and multi agency partners to offer the support that students need to make a real difference in their lives. Due to the vulnerabilities of our students and their families, safeguarding expectations and practices are at the highest level and are regularly reviewed to maintain best practice.
This website will provide you with a wealth of information, however, it is no substitute for a visit to our school. Please contact Bonny Keogh on [email protected] if you would like to book a visit or would like further information.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you and your family into The Harbour School community.
