The Harbour School takes its responsibility for implementing the Prevent strategy very seriously. As a learning organisation, we are committed to responding to the ideological challenge of terrorism and the threat the school community faces from those who promote terrorism. Our safeguarding team meets three times a year to ensure that the school has a clear, effective and up-to-date action plan and risk assessment to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.
The Personal Development curriculum at The Harbour School actively promotes fundamental British values including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Children are encouraged to share their views and recognise that they are entitled to have their own different beliefs which should not be used to influence others.
If you have any queries, concerns or comments regarding the School’s Prevent strategy please contact Heidi Gibbs who is the school’s Prevent lead or Andrea Nesbit, the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead.
